A Heritage Rooted in Cuenca
Our story begins in 1859, with the birth of Federico Malo Andrade in Cuenca, Ecuador. Federico became mayor of Cuenca and later acquired a 1,350-acre property at 9,600 feet in the Andes, the land that would become our family's farming legacy. Nearly a century and a half later, his descendants Rosana and Juan Carlos turned that inherited land into a flower farm, and in 1997, our flower business as you know it today began.
The Perfect Location
Our farm's location in the Andes gives it real advantages other regions simply can't match:
- Equatorial Sunlight: Twelve hours of direct sunlight daily, year-round.
- High Altitude: Thinner air and closer proximity to the sun encourage stronger blooms.
- Natural Pest Protection: Elevation naturally reduces pest presence, meaning fewer treatments.
- Pure Resources: Andean rainwater and volcanic soil.
- Consistent Climate: Ideal growing conditions year-round.
What Makes Us Different
We bring Ecuadorian quality direct to florists, home-florists, and businesses across the U.S. Here's what sets that apart:
Our farm grows year-round under controlled greenhouse conditions, using GPS-based pest monitoring, natural composting, and rigorous harvest protocols, so we treat only what needs it and waste nothing that doesn't.
What began as inherited farmland in the Andes has grown into a flower business shipping direct to florists and businesses across the U.S. Nearly three decades in, we're still family-run, still focused on quality flowers, delivered direct, with no shortcuts.
What started on a single piece of land has grown into a network of farms across different regions of Ecuador, each chosen for the climate and soil that bring out the best in a particular variety. Same quality standard, same farm-direct model, just more of it.
We started as a rose farm, and roses remain our specialty. Over time, we've grown to offer fillers, greenery, tinted varieties, and mix boxes too, so florists and businesses can source more of what they need from one farm-direct supplier.
