Freedom Rose

Rich Red, Grown for Lasting Color and Impact

Freedom Rose is one of the most requested red varieties in our fields, prized for its deep, unfading red and sturdy, well-formed bloom. Grown at high altitude under intense equatorial sunlight, it develops thicker stems and richer pigmentation than roses grown at lower elevations. It works beautifully on its own as a statement bloom or paired with Hydrangeas, Alstroemerias, and Ruscus for a fuller arrangement.

What makes Freedom Rose different from other red roses?

Red roses can vary in how their color holds as the bloom ages, some fade toward the edges after a few days in the vase. Freedom Rose is bred to keep a deep, consistent red from the outer petals to the center for most of its vase life, rather than drifting paler as it opens. Combined with a firm, well-closed bud on arrival, it's a variety that reads as premium even before it fully opens, which is part of why it's stayed one of our most consistently ordered varieties year after year.

Why does it arrive looking tighter than expected?

Like every fresh-cut rose we ship, Freedom Rose arrives with its outer guard petals still in place. These slightly firmer petals protect the bloom during the trip from farm to door and are not a sign of damage or mishandling. Peeling them back gently once the rose arrives reveals the fuller bloom and richer red underneath, usually within the first hour of unpacking and rehydrating.

How long does Freedom Rose really last?

Grown at high altitude and shipped farm-direct, Freedom Rose typically holds for 14 to 21 days in the vase, well past the 5 to 7 days common with supermarket roses. Keeping the water clean and recutting the stem every few days at an angle will help it reach the longer end of that range. Because the stem arrives farm-fresh rather than having already spent days in a wholesale chain, it has more of its natural vase life left by the time it reaches you, which also means it tolerates being arranged a few days ahead of an event.

Why do florists and event planners keep coming back to Freedom Rose?

For florists running a weekly program, its consistency from box to box makes it easy to plan designs without surprises in color or bloom size. For event planners working Valentine's Day or other red-forward events, its long vase life means arrangements built days ahead of an event still look fresh on the day itself. It's a variety that performs the same way order after order, which matters more than a flashier but less predictable alternative once you're managing dozens of orders at once.
